📝 Editor's Take Our four verified Geelacanth reports split into two very different stories. At Lake Nanairo it has been a big-fish bait in the main river: a 58.0 cm (3,160 g) on July 26 with the water at 26.6°C, and a 60.5 cm (2,620 g) on September 6 at 24.6°C. At Lake Mishima on August 16 it was the big bait one angler reached for in the upper Toyofusa arm, fished at 1-2 m alongside a Balbuta and a Wacky Teacher for seven fish that never broke 40 cm. And at Lake Kameyama on September 16, on a free rig with a Micro Hover-strolling bait in the upper Orikisawa arm, it was part of a 17-fish day and a 2,605 g three-fish bag with a 49 cm kicker that finished second in a local tournament.
