Bass catch from a Japanese reservoir Largemouth bass caught in Japan
🎯 Why Bass-Dash exists

Japan's bass scene develops tackle and techniques at a relentless pace — finesse rigs, soft plastics, and reels that often reach the US years later, if at all. But it's hard for American anglers to tell what's actually working in Japan versus what's just being marketed.

"Which JDM lures are genuinely catching fish right now?"
"What rods and reels are the top Japanese pros really running?"

Bass-Dash answers those questions with data, not hype. We aggregate 300+ real catch reports from Japan's top reservoirs and pull verified gear straight from professional anglers' own videos — then point you to where you can source the same tackle in the US.

🎣
Kanata

A 30-year bass angler based in northern Kanto, Japan. Home waters are Lake Kanna and Lake Haruna, where he specializes in structure fishing on highland reservoirs and baitfish patterns during drawdown.

Fishing both from a boat and the bank, he runs Bass-Dash around one theme: maximizing preparation so that a limited number of trips still puts a fish in the boat.

• Experience: 30 years of bass fishing (first-generation Japanese bass boom)
• Main rods: Shimano Poison Adrena / Daiwa Steez
• Go-to rigs: Neko rig, small rubber jig, jighead wacky, spinnerbait

🔍 Editorial & fact-checking process

Everything on Bass-Dash is organized as "the information the operator wished he had before heading out" — verified and sourced.

▼ Pro Gear pages (/en/pros)
  1. Each pro's official YouTube videos are collected weekly (only videos with the angler's name in the title).
  2. Gear is extracted only when the pro explicitly states it on camera (watched and confirmed by the operator).
  3. Every extracted item carries a source video URL and an as-of date.
  4. Brand names and model numbers are cross-checked against manufacturers' official sites.
  5. Errors or discontinued models are corrected, with the change history kept in the public GitHub repository.
▼ What's Hot in Japan (/en/japan-now)
  1. Trending lures are aggregated from 300+ real catch reports across Japan's top reservoirs.
  2. Lure names, rig types, and sizes are normalized into English and unit-converted for US anglers.
  3. Clearly exaggerated or unsourced figures are excluded.

AI is used only as an aid — the operator makes the final call on what gets published. To request a correction or removal, email bassdashk@gmail.com. Revision history is public via the GitHub commit log.
