📝 Editor's Take Three reports, twenty-five fish, and every bass that got written up was a fifty - 50cm, 50cm and 52cm. That is what a magnum crank is for. It is not a numbers bait; it is a size filter, and the log backs that up. All three trips fall in May on Kanto reservoirs - Kameyama and Sagami - as water climbed toward 22C and post-spawn fish started following bait. The Kameyama reports both name the same trigger: bluegill and wataka, a native cyprinid, balling up on the main lake, with an O.S.P. pro running the Magnum straight through them. The Sagami fish is the one worth studying - a 52 taken in barely a metre of water during Golden Week, when every bank in Japan is under pressure. Volume and water push, not depth, are doing the work.
